QX6175 Marlan, RF (Spike)
"Spike" Marlan was the first commander of the 2/15th Battalion.
These photos have come courtesy of his daughter, Cecily Kelly. Most of them are taken in Darwin.
The captions of these photos are thought to be as follows:
1. Official photo taken and provided from the Australian War Memorial.
2. Spike Marlan on board a ship (whether it was taken in Darwin or on the Queen Mary is not known - 1940.
3. Spike Marlan on the RHS, other officer not known - 1940.
4. Some of the coy's waiting for the "advance" to move on to the markers on the Bn parade ground Darwin.
5. Col. Saluting the Commandant during a march past in Darwin in 1940. The notation on the photo says that it was midday and very hot.
6. Photo of the rear coy. (HQ Coy) on the same parade just after passing the saluting point - 1940.

It was taken at the 2012 Club Luncheon held on ANZAC Day 2012 at Southbank in Brisbane.
